About

This web site is a place to document and discuss the current ongoing disruption going on in the transportation and energy industries.

Many states and cities around the world are implementing bans on Internal Combustion Engine vehicles in order to mitigate the damage to the environment from fossil fuels (see below). This is a forcing function on the automotive industry to adapt new ways of powering their vehicles. At this stage it appears Battery powered eletric is going to be the successor to ICE. Few legacy automotive companies have put in place the investment or R&D to make this transition.

(VW ICE Graveyard)

One company has positioned itself and actually driven the move to electrification. That company is Tesla. With their Giga-Factories pumping out ever cheaper and advanced batteries, their super charger global network they lead the way. Their compelling cars (Model S, 3, X and Y) and their exciting product pipeline (Pickup, Semi, Roadster), Tesla are years ahead.

Although we don't like to see companies fail or people loosing their jobs ultimately some of the big auto companies will struggle in this transition. The site will document the winners and losers of this great upheaval in the industry
